Cheers to Ten Years! Why I’m raising funds for charity…
Updated: Sep 15, 2020
In 2009, Josie was diagnosed with Stage 2 breast cancer with secondary cancer in her lymph nodes. Her children were very young and she was running a business – she didn’t have time to have cancer! So looking on it as an adventure, she faced each stage with a determination and strong sense of humour so that she would get through it all. She had 5 rounds of chemotherapy, a lumpectomy and lymph nodes removed, 20 doses of radiotherapy and 17 rounds of Herceptin. She was given the full works and yet loved being bald!
Ten years on, she has done more than survive. She has seen her two children grow into fine young men, achieved a MA, started a new business venture, and has become a Member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing. She knows from loosing a dear friend, who was the same age and with the same cancer, how fortunate she is to be here and still healthy.
In order to ‘give back’, Josie is organising a ‘Pink Ladies Night Out’ to say “Cheers to Ten Years”. Held at the Lighthouse Cinema, Wolverhampton, the night will be a private screening of the smash hit musical ‘Grease’ and the promise of a LOT of surprises! The money is being raised for Ladies Fighting Breast Cancer – a charity who give 97.5p in every £1 raised directly to those ladies who need it.
Tickets are available from the following link. Josie is also looking for local companies to sponsor the event in a variety of ways. Please email Josie for more information – firstname.lastname@example.org
